Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and how you control it.
Last updated: 12 August 2026
Rickson Games is an independent game studio run by one person. This policy covers the website at ricksongames.com and the games we publish on stores and web portals. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the studio and show ads in our free games.
The short version
- We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell your data.
- The website has no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising.
- Our free games show ads through Google AdMob, which uses your device's advertising ID to choose which ads to show.
- You can reset or delete that advertising ID at any time in your device settings.
- Questions go to contact@ricksongames.com.
Who is responsible
Rickson Games (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for the purposes of this policy. You can reach us at contact@ricksongames.com about anything in this document.
The website
This website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, and does not track you across sites. Three things are still worth knowing:
| What | Why | Who |
|---|---|---|
| Server logs, including your IP address, browser type and the pages requested | Delivering the site, security and abuse prevention | Cloudflare, our host and CDN |
| Security cookies set by our host | Telling real visitors apart from bots | Cloudflare |
| Your IP address when the page loads its fonts | The site loads Orbitron and Rajdhani from Google Fonts |
Contacting us
The contact form on this site does not send anything to a server. It opens your own email application with the message pre-filled, and you decide whether to send it. If you do write to us, we keep your message and email address only for as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry and keep a record of it.
Our games
Our games do not require an account and do not ask for your name, email address or payment details. What they do collect comes from the advertising we use to keep them free.
Advertising
Free games such as ClockHeart Merge show ads through Google AdMob. To select and measure ads, AdMob may process:
- your device's advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS);
- device information such as model, operating system version and language;
- your IP address, which gives an approximate location — typically city level, not a precise position;
- information about ads shown, such as whether an ad was viewed or clicked.
This processing is carried out by Google as an independent controller. How Google uses this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in the Google Privacy Policy.
Games on web portals
Some of our games are playable on portals such as itch.io, CrazyGames, Poki, GameDistribution and YouTube Playables. When you play there, that portal's own privacy policy applies to your visit alongside this one, and the portal — not us — controls the advertising shown on its pages.
Your choices
- Reset or delete your advertising ID. On Android: Settings › Privacy › Ads. On iOS: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. This stops the old identifier being linked to you and lets you turn off ad personalisation.
- Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Where the law requires it, our games ask for your choice about personalised advertising before any ad loads, using Google's consent messaging. You can change your answer later from the game's settings or privacy option.
- Non-personalised ads. If you decline personalised ads, the game still works — ads are simply chosen without using your advertising ID for profiling.
Children
Our games are intended for a general audience aged 13 and over. They are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, write to contact@ricksongames.com and we will delete it.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond what the ad providers named above do as part of serving ads. Data reaches only:
- Cloudflare — website hosting, security and email forwarding;
- Google — AdMob advertising, Google Fonts, and app distribution through Google Play;
- Game portals — where you choose to play one of our games on their site;
- Authorities — only where we are legally required to.
These providers operate internationally, so your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards those providers put in place.
How long we keep things
- Server logs: kept only briefly by our host for security and diagnostics.
- Emails you send us: kept while we deal with your enquiry and for our records afterwards.
- Advertising data: retained by Google under its own retention rules, not ours.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in Europe or the UK, or the CCPA in California — you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to receive a copy of it. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, write to contact@ricksongames.com. We will reply within 30 days. Because we hold very little data and cannot identify you from a game installation, we may need more information from you to locate anything at all — and in many cases there will be nothing to find, which we will tell you honestly.
Changes to this policy
If we add a service that changes what is collected — analytics, in-app purchases or accounts, for instance — we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on our website and in the affected game.
